Yo. Dunno if everyone knows about this or not, but I only just found out last night. Turns out Orcon is doing ADSL 2 beta testing next month. Speeds up to 24mbps! So fuck yeah, I’ve signed up :) So I spoke with a “contact” in an abandoned parking lot, and he told me that they’re rolling it out because they have a smaller client base than Telecom, who would rather roll it out. So if you’re with Xtra, don’t expect ADSL 2 for a few years. And I don’t know about smaller isps. Thought this may strike you interesting.

Are you blogging in my comments? How uncouth. Exciting news though, worth spreading. I… just can’t help but feel pessimistic. I feel like NZ’s broadband network needs to be burnt, melted, eviscerated, replaced by pure gleaming… pasta? I can see that working.
